- Paper I (Classes I–V): Higher Secondary (+2) with 50% marks and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (or equivalent). Other equivalent qualifications as per NCTE norms also accepted.
- Paper II (Classes VI–VIII): Graduation with 50% marks and B.Ed. (or equivalent). Candidates pursuing final year of teacher education courses recognized by NCTE/RCI are also eligible.
Important Notes: Candidates with Special Education qualification must undergo a 6-month NCTE recognized special training program after appointment.
